Clarice Turner is a globally recognized c-suite executive with a successful track record of leading dynamic organizations, most recently as President of Joseph Phelps Vineyards, responsible for ensuring its long term growth and sustainability. Prior to joining Phelps, Clarice was chief executive officer of Boudin Bakery and held executive leadership positions with Starbucks Coffee Company, YUM Brands and PepsiCo.
Clarice’s current and former board memberships include Blaze Pizza, Delicato Family Wines, Culinary Institute of America, Women of the Vine & Spirits and National Restaurant Association.
Clarice earned an MBA concentrating in International Business, and a BA in Geology from San Francisco State University. She also attended Shanghai, China’s Fudan University where she studied Mandarin Chinese.
A ninth generation Californian, in her spare time, Clarice enjoys judging wine competitions and reaching back to mentor the future generation of women leaders. Clarice and her husband have 2 children and live in the Napa Valley.
Jolene Yee leads a small but fierce Legal Department, including alcohol beverage Trade Practices Compliance and Health & Safety. Her practice encompasses many aspects of winery business and operations, including legal strategy, M&A, domestic & cross-border commercial transactions, trademark, employment counseling, litigation oversight, policy analysis and development, and general corporate representation.
She represents Delicato’s interests in a variety of trade associations, and is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s government affairs strategy. Prior to joining Delicato, she spent over a decade advising the world’s largest winery – E. & J. Gallo, following a short stint with a tech firm in the Silicon Valley and a slightly longer stint as a Foreign Legal Consultant representing American and European clients in general business matters and acquisitions of financially distressed assets with a large law firm in Seoul, Korea.
Jolene is a member of the Professional Faculty for the Sonoma State University Global Executive MBA in Wine Business, and is a member of the team that developed the innovative and experiential hybrid curriculum of online learning and residential intensives. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Hamel Family Wines, a boutique luxury winery located in Sonoma, Ca.
Jolene has a history of supporting women in education and in business, and in building programs at work that help support, mentor, and advance women in the workplace. She strongly believes that a more diverse leadership means a more successful company, and is a founding member and Chair Emeritus of the Delicato Women’s Leadership Initiative. Jolene is a frequent panelist and commentator on M&A, thought leadership, law practice management, and challenges and demands facing women in the law and in the workplace.
Jolene holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal and more recently served on the Hastings Employer Advisory Counsel. She was previously an adjunct instructor at Hastings. She lives in Napa, California with her husband John, two children, large lab Moonshine, and a handful of chickens. When she’s not working, teaching, or chasing her two kids, you’ll likely find her having a glass of rosé with her husband or writing music with her rock band The Sirens.
