Today, at 98 years old, Maddalena Riboli continues to guide her family-owned and run wine enterprise to grow and evolve.

Maddalena Riboli is the matriarch of the Riboli family as well as a second Generation Riboli family member. Maddalena is credited with opening one of the very first winery tasting rooms in California in 1947. A tasting room still in operation today and in its original location at the San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles. With her love of food and wine, she opened the Maddalena Restaurant in 1974. By the mid-80s, her namesake graced the label of Maddalena Wines, and by 2010 the first vineyards of the new Maddalena Vineyard estate in Paso Robles, CA were planted.

In this "C-Suite Insights" session, you will learn about this incredible pioneer, her journey from childhood to the helm of this family business and hear from family members on how they are instilling Maddalena's legacy forward for generations to come.

Maddalena Riboli is the matriarch of the Riboli family as well as a 2nd generation Riboli family member. Since marrying into the Riboli family in 1946, Maddalena has propelled the growth and success of the company and family. Maddalena is credited with opening one of the very first winery tasting rooms in California in 1947, still in operation and in its original location at the San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles. With her love of food and wine, she opened the Maddalena Restaurant in 1974. By the mid-80s, her namesake graced the label of Maddalena Wines, and by 2010 the first vineyards of the new Maddalena Vineyard estate in Paso Robles, CA were planted. Today, at nearly 100 years old, Maddalena Riboli continues to inspire her successful family-owned and run wine enterprise to grow and evolve. Riboli Family Wines prospers by following the principles set forth by Maddalena Riboli: serve the customer, reinvest in yourself, keep moving forward. Sempre Avanti!

Fourth generation winemaker Anthony Riboli received his M.S. in Viticulture from the University of California, Davis. During the 1997 harvest, he apprenticed under Michael Weis at Groth Vineyards & Winery in Napa Valley.  Since then, he has led winemaking, viticulture and production for the Riboli California wine portfolio at the company.

Anthony’s foremost goal has been improving the quality of wines through a meticulous focus in the vineyards as well as in winemaking at the sustainable, state-of-the-art facility in Paso Robles. One of Anthony’s greatest pleasures is working alongside his family.

Lisa Riboli is a 4th generation Riboli family member and currently oversees the company’s Partnerships and Events department.  After graduating from law school in 2004, Lisa joined her family’s winery in 2014.  Her legal background assisted in the formation of the company’s Human Resources department and Legal department. Her primary focus is experiential marketing and constantly researching and implementing activations that provide an individual experience for those who attend Riboli Family sponsored events.  Lisa has two children who love coming to the winery and can’t wait to contribute to the family winery as part of the 5th generation.

Jennifer Converse is a 4th generation Riboli family member and currently helps run the Maddalena Restaurant, gift shop, and tasting rooms at the San Antonio Winery’s 3 locations. Jennifer has been working alongside her family at the winery as long as she can remember, primarily under her mother and grandmother, following in their trailblazing footsteps. Since coming to work at the Los Angeles location full time in 2020, Jennifer has found new and creative ways to continuously bring in new customers. In addition to working in the restaurant and wine shop, Jennifer oversees the winery’s social media and online advertising. On a nice sunny day, Jennifer can be found enjoy lunch with her family on the brand-new Patio Alfresco located at the San Antonio Winery Los Angeles.

Cathy Riboli is a 3rd generation Riboli family member and the current Chief Financial Officer at San Antonio Winery. Cathy also manages the Maddalena Restaurant, located inside the winery, where she has transformed and expanded the restaurant to welcome in a larger and more diverse group of patrons for both casual dining and private events. Cathy has always been a believer in bringing people together through food and wine and has spearheaded the expansion of the tasting rooms and restaurants in both Ontario and Paso Robles, CA locations.
