SAFE Bar Network
The SAFE Bar Network envisions a “safe night out” for everyone. We are partnering with bartenders, servers, managers, and owners of alcohol-serving venues across the country to create workplaces focused on using active bystander skills to increase safety. We’ve learned that there are already people in the beverage and hospitality industry who take pride in their customer service skills and work to create a safe atmosphere. The industry-wide change happens when we come together to change norms - to create a new status-quo. Join the SAFE Bar Network’s, Haleigh Harrold, for a conversation focused on building the skills to notice concerning or unsafe behavior, exploring all of the options to intervene effectively, and understanding the ways that you can change norms to create a safer environment for customers and coworkers/employees.
- Gain an understanding of the ways people cross boundaries, use alcohol as a tool, and isolate others at bars and other alcohol-serving venues.
- Explore options for interrupting uncomfortable or unsafe behavior.
- Understand an individual’s role in creating norms around using active bystander skills to increase safety.
