Our People of Color Alliance Group is a space for members who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of color, and their allies can connect on unique issues that are important to the group. As co-leads for this group, Sarah & Erika, believe it’s important to model the partnership between women of color and their allies, since traditionally the spaces for women have been predominantly white.

During this Live Chat, we will facilitate a conversation with group members on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Black history is American history- honoring Black history 365 days a year.
  • White feminism and it’s impact on BIPOC communities.
  • Community defined and how the WOTVS People of Color alliance can better support you, our members.
  • What is one specific way that allies have challenged themselves to be better?
  • Are there any industry specific landmines that are especially tricky to navigate for POC?
  • What do you non-white people want to know, see, or feel to comfortably advocate or sponsor a person from a racially underrepresented group?
  • In your estimation, have you seen meaningful traction since the social unrest earlier this year?
  • With women’s history month approaching, how can we make it about more than white women?

Have you joined our People of Color Alliance Group?

Sign up Here to post topics, start discussions, share resources, links, and articles, and connect with others. The WOTVS People of Color Alliance Group is for members who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of color and their allies. Members of this group are encouraged to use this platform to have conversations around unique issues to the community and experiences in order to support each other and further inclusion in the alcohol beverage industry. We believe that it is only together that we are able to overcome issues and evolve. This is a learning space where we recognize not everyone is going to get it right and not everyone is in the same place in their journey, but we are committed to growing together. In this spirit we will be administrating this space to promote a community of learning.
