Join Women of the Vine & Spirits for a Custom, Expert-led Training

Level 1: Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Training with Special Guest, RAINN

Brought to you by WOTVS & DISCUS

Monday, October 4
12:00PM PST / 3:00PM EST

As part of an ongoing initiative to support those in the alcohol beverage industry, Women of the Vine & Spirits (WOTVS), in partnership with Corporate Member Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), has hired RAINN to develop this customized training for WOTVS and DISCUS members, and the alcohol beverage community.

RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, will provide participants with trauma-informed education to increase awareness around sexual misconduct and strategies for prevention. RAINN helps organizations meet the complexities of today’s climate by moving beyond compliance toward values-based, sustainable solutions that promote safe and healthy communities.

Leveraging their expertise and insights, RAINN’s consulting team will deliver a customized, interactive virtual training to increase awareness around sexual misconduct and provide participants with the knowledge to apply strategies for prevention and response. This session is one of five Level 1 training sessions.

In this 90-minute session, RAINN will begin with exploring the complexities of sexual misconduct and how common misconceptions play a role in the experiences of survivors. Participants will deepen their understanding of the link between power dynamics and common responses to trauma. With this foundational knowledge, participants will learn skills and strategies for creating safe, supportive communities. These strategies will include practical tools for setting and protecting boundaries, intervening in potentially unsafe or uncomfortable situations, and supporting survivors in sensitive, trauma-informed ways.

This session will not be recorded. Capacity is limited to 295 attendees.

This Session is Part of an Ongoing Series.

Level 2 of this training will be offered beginning in October. It is highly recommended that you attend Level 1 before participating in Level 2 training sessions.

Are you in need of counseling, legal or financial consultation, work-life assistance, or crisis intervention services?

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, the National Sexual Assault Hotline provides free, anonymous 24/7 support via phone at 800.656.4673 or chat via the online hotline. RAINN’s website (www.rainn.org) also provides information on supporting loved ones who are survivors, helping yourself heal if you’ve been directly affected by sexual violence, and how to be part of creating safer communities.

For those employed, please check with your HR Manager if your company offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for support.

For those who do not have an EAP program, we invite you to learn more about the WOTVS Foundation Assistance Program. The WOTVS Foundation Assistance Program (FAP) is provided by ComPsych® GuidanceResources® and offers FREE counseling, legal and financial consultation, work-life assistance and crisis intervention services to all enrollees and their household family members. Enroll today and receive these services through January 31, 2022.

Our Foundation was challenged to find an innovative solution to offer aid to those in need. Normally these types of benefits are paid for by the employer, but due to the pandemic, many industry professionals have been laid off, furloughed or working reduced hours leaving them in need, with no assistance. Thanks to a generous donation from Love, Tito’s, the philanthropic arm of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, a Silver Corporate Member of WOTVS and Benefactor Donor to the WOTVS Foundation, the program received funding to initiate the launch.
