Our goal is to talk about the challenges that business owners are facing right now and the current business climate we find ourselves in during these challenging times.  Prior to our first group call, we will be sending out a poll to see what topics are the most important to our members.  Some issues we are planning to address in our group either on this call or a future call are:

  • Brand Differentiation
  • Marketing Today:  What’s working, what’s not
  • Issues facing WOTVS entrepreneurs now:  funding, employees, legal, health, natural disasters….
  • Unusual business opportunities identified
  • Virtual Networking
  • Business Wins and Losses during the pandemic
  • Staff engagement:  Hiring, onboarding, managing, terminating

Please plan to join us on our first Live Chat with our new co-leaders. We look forward to your feedback from the poll too! Together, we can support one another through these uncertain times!

Amy Gardner founded WineTalent in 2004 to provide confidential and individualized search services to the wine industry. With an educational foundation in plant science at UC Davis, she first worked in research and production laboratories. She quickly realized her true interest in recruiting, and for the last 25 years has been matching companies and employees for long-term placements. The relationships she has developed within the wine business allows her to be able to find the right people for the job.

Throughout her career Amy has stayed up-to-date with employment trends and legal issues. This knowledge is invaluable to the companies and people she works with. Being knowledgeable in fair employment practices allows Amy to address issues and provide solutions to clients and job seekers.

Providing employment information to job seekers has been a significant portion of her work. She frequently discusses employment issues on her blog and is a frequent contributor to industry panels and association meetings.

Confidentiality in all of her business dealings allows companies to hire the best candidates and for job seekers to have the ability to explore new employment opportunities and improving their career opportunities.

WineTalent: The Right People for the Job

Rebecca is passionate about the wine, spirits and food industry, and making it easier for businesses to achieve their goals. In 2010, she blended two of her loves – design and wine – and began to focus on helping wine brands tell their brand story. Rebecca specializes in integrating this brand story and strategy into print, packaging, website design and development to stand out from the competition. Her motto is: “Will design for wine.”

Rebecca is pleased to teach brands the marketing strategies and tools they can use to get more customers and increase their sales. Based in Illinois she travels coast-to-coast to share her 20 years of design and branding expertise via workshops and presentations on branding, marketing, website strategy, wine label design, and social media. Rebecca prides herself on providing tangible takeaways that owners and marketing managers can apply to their specific winery. When not speaking, she partners with wineries and vineyards around the country to create unforgettable brands.
