for the Women of the Vine & Spirits Certified Women Owned Logo and Database
What is the Women of the Vine & Spirits
Certified Women Owned Logo and Database?
Women of the Vine & Spirits aims to create a movement of support for women-owned businesses in the alcohol beverage industry and is dedicated to raise awareness for why, where and how to buy women owned products and services in all sectors of the alcohol beverage industry. The Women of the Vine & Spirits Certified Women Owned Logo and Database is a game-changer for women-owned businesses and companies looking to create or broaden their supplier diversity programs in the alcohol beverage industry.
The purpose of the logo and database is for buyers, wholesalers and consumers to easily identify women owned and certified brands in the three-tier system and benefits women-owned businesses, On-Premise/Off-Premise Buyers, Wholesalers, Supplier Diversity Managers, Importers and Consumers.
What Does it Mean to be Certified
Being a Women-Owned company means that you are at least 51 percent owned, managed and controlled by a woman or group of women. Being Certified means your company has been WBENC or WEConnect International Certified as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
Why is Certification Important?
What is a Supplier Diversity Program?
A Supplier Diversity program is a proactive corporate program which provides qualified small and diverse businesses with a pathway to become an official provider of goods or services to companies.
Companies that have Supplier Diversity Programs recognize the importance of having a diverse supplier base that reflects their employees and customers around the world. By working with small and diverse suppliers, companies tap into new ideas that add value to their businesses and provide innovative solutions and increase company profits.
A supplier diversity program benefits a company because:
Women control over $20 trillion of annual consumer spending globally.
In the United States, women influence or manage 85% of all consumer purchases.
A study America’s largest retailer (Walmart) conducted of its shoppers found that 90% of female customers in the US would go out of their way to purchase
Walmart study showed products with the women-owned logo were perceived to have “high quality”.

“BuzzBallz, LLC is thrilled to be part of Women of the Vine & Spirits. We will gain the attention of wholesalers and retailers for our unique brands and nimble capabilities. BuzzBallz has been a registered NWBOC organization since 2015, and WBENC since 2016. Both organizations have been helpful in growing our business, but having a specific alcohol industry women-owned certification through Women of the Vine & Spirits will assist BuzzBallz to compete with larger suppliers.”
– Tracy Frisbie
Vice President of Marketing, Buzzballs, LLC
“Across the globe, women continue to earn, on average, less than one percent of the trillions of dollars spent on suppliers by large corporations and governments. WEConnect International’s new partnership with Women of the Vine & Spirits helps to bridge this gap, connecting more women-owned businesses, in more industries, to the resources, education, and networks needed to succeed in global value chains.”
– Elizabeth A. Vazquez
CEO & Co-Founder, WeConnect International
