Ruth’s TasteMaker Dinners

Pop bottles and raise a glass to two legendary names in fine dining and wine: Miss Ruth and Madame Clicquot. On August 23, Women of the Vine & Spirits Corporate Members’ Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Moet Hennessy will collaborate to host a five-course pairing dinner at Ruth’s Chris locations across the country, featuring Veuve Cliquot to celebrate the “First Leady of Steak” and the “Grand Dame of Champagne.”

Inspired by Ruth’s Chris founder Ruth Fertel, each pairing partner in the TasteMaker series has a story that echoes Fertel’s own fearless spirit of entrepreneurship and dedication to quality. The single mother mortgaged her home more than 50 years ago to purchase her first restaurant. She had no prior restaurant experience but was able to succeed because of her commitment to providing exceptional food and service to all of her guests. Similarly, Madame Barbe-Nicole Clicquot also made a name for herself in spite of the odds. When she was 27 years-old, her husband passed away and she was tasked with taking over his wine business. Under her guidance and skill at winemaking, she helped establish one of the oldest and most celebrated Champagne houses in the country: Veuve Clicquot, which means “The Widow Clicquot.”
